What is on the tip of your tongue when you are angry? What is the first word that comes out of your mouth when you get hurt? Probably something quite rude or generally negative right? It is almost as easy as breathing to just say ‘sh*t’ or ‘ffs’ when you get annoyed..well for those of us that have a bit of a potty mouth it is! My mouth is only 63% saved.

Just today someone said something so hurtful about me. My initial reaction was that of confusion. I was trying to figure out what I had done to this person to deserve such hate. Then the more I searched the more I gave life to past hurtful things that I thought I had buried. I started regurgitating a lot of rubbish and all it did was hurt me even more. I began to feel quite angry, my anger was directed to the person, then it somehow got redirected to me lol. I was so mad at myself for my past, my sins, my mistakes..in no time I was consumed by pain.

As soon as I realised this dark place that I was in, I started listening to Hillsong – Of Dirt and Grace (Live from the Land ) and put on my Welly boots. I went into the garden and started working. Song after song God comforted me, He spoke to me and I started to undo the pain by remembering who I am and WHOSE I am. By the time I went back into the house I was refreshed. I sat down by the window and started crying. All the emotions came back again but in that moment I quickly remembered that what people say about me is meaningless because God Himself gave me life and His word is the most powerful.

” Lord I hear You I know You’re here, Closer now than my skin and bones could dare, Breathing deep within me, You are always with me.” Lyrics to Closer than you know (From a quiet place beneath an Olive tree) from the album above.

So release the offender because he is not yours to keep. There is a sermon I listened to earlier this year and it explains this : Look at yourself as wheat in any situation in life, the offender as the tare/thorn/weed and God as the Sower. If you see weeds growing in your garden you will remove them so that they do not take the nutrients from your flowers. God is the same. He is within us, He is all knowing – Omniscient. Therefore He will deal with those that slander you, hurt you, degrade you because they offend He that created you. Kill the seeds that the enemy plants in your life and do not plant negative seeds in other peoples hearts.

So do not let a thorn stop you from blooming, The Sower is pulling those thorns out and burning them.

The pain will stop keep working at it…Take care of you x

It is funny that sometimes we find comfort in anger and hate. However, they eat us inside slowly. Sometimes we even forget what it is that we hate about someone. Sometimes the person we hate does not even know it. Your piece of writing shows the pain caused by hate and the peace that comes with healing from it. God bless you and your healthy reflections. This will heal so many people burdened by the seeds of hate.
