One thing I did not consider when I moved up North was how the climate would affect my skin. It is much colder in the Scottish Highlands than it is in the West Coast where I lived for 8 years. I slowly noticed how my skin started to react to this change. I had been using the same brand for about 1 year. I tried various combinations and products from a particular range but my skin did not improve it actually got worse. So I decided to start looking for a beauty brand that was conscious!
Side note ****Why would you invest in an expensive car but you do not invest in your health? You never miss the MOT but you do not even listen to what your body is telling you. Why do we treat material things with more care than our own bodies? How can you buy expensive clothes when you do not even know where the organic section in your local store is? Grow a herb garden in your kitchen! For some reason we are so eager to portray an image about our lives, showing every part of us to the world except our health…maybe because we are too embarrassed to show how poorly we perform in that area.***
I realised that what I put in my body ( including onto my skin ) was just as important as serving God. If I am not healthy, if I am not fit how then am I going to serve God and his people? I have to be accountable for my health (mental, physical or emotional).
The hunt began to find something that would work for both my skin concern and skin colour.
Unexpectedly my sister & her husband ( thanks Angela ) got me a gorgeous Liz Earle Try-me kit. I went onto their website to learn more about them and I discovered a whole new community. There were a few things that stood out for me as I read their blogs. I loved the fact that all the things I was worried about they had already thought of. I eat or grow a lot of the ingredients they use (winning!), there were no long weird chemical names that made no sense to me in their products. One of their 4 key principles is ‘we harness the potent power of botanicals’ this for me made their products unique. Oh and they are local…well Isle of Wight lol.
Liz Earle is truly an exceptional beauty brand. It is fresh, authentic and maximises natures own power to enrich the body. I have every product they have…body, face, fragrance and hair care. Today I will only talk about my morning and evening routine. I have combination skin which means I have both dry and oily skin depending on season or dietary intake. Having been born and raised in Africa my skin concerns change with the weather too. So trust me when I say that Liz Earle is amazing!
Step 1. I use the world famous Cleanse & Polish Hot cloth cleanser with a pure cotton face cloth. It is so creamy and gentle. My face feels so clean and bright. It also removes make-up, so I ditched all those toxic filled make-up removers.
Step 2. Then I use the skin repair moisturiser (combination) or the superskin moisturiser (unfragranced for sensitive skin). You will notice Liz Earle products are very natural therefore they do not contain all those toxic par-fums most brands add to convince you to use them. I apply on my face and neck.
Step 3. At night when required I use the superskin concentrate for night instead of a night moisturiser. Liz Earle says ‘Massage with certain plant oils last thing at night can help regulate sebum production in oilier areas of skin and lead to a more balanced, controlled complexion’
Step 4. I also use this genius Instant boost skin tonic all through the day it does not ruin my make up if I am wearing any but most importantly it does exactly as it says on the bottle! Summer has been great and I used the skin tonic a lot but also as the whether changes to wintry this tonic works so well to help keep that summer glow!
Liz and Kim thank you for following your dreams and building this brand. We do not know each other personally (although seeing you on This morning makes me think we do lol ) but I feel the passion you have in your products. I use them daily and take them everywhere. I was at Gatwick airport a few months ago and saw a huge Liz Earle stand in Boots I was so happy I literally did a happy dance!
If you would like to find out more about Liz Earle then visit their website it has ALL the information you need plus a live chat with a HUMAN lol I visit their site almost daily! http://uk.lizearle.com/about-us
